    VS.

A nail biting finish at the Convocation Center. Eagles pull out a 1 point win over in state rival Western Michigan. EMU had a chance to win the game in regulation, they had 9 seconds to score but were unable to do so, which sent the game to Overtime. Eastern won in overtime 50-49.     Stating the game Eastern Michigan was looking good, they were keeping a steady lead, and were able to into halftime with a 23-18 lead. You could tell Eastern Michigan really wanted this win, the Eagles played hard all game long, and didn't let the game slip away.

The second half started out all WMU. They got offensive rebounds and put-back shots. WMU opened up a 5 point lead. The Eagles got back into the game quickly with about 7 minutes to go in the game.

Nobody expected what would happen next. WMU's David Brown hit's a 3, to put Western up by 3, with about 3 minutes to go in the game. But the excitement is just about to begin. Derek Thompson then hit's a deep 3, while being heavily guarded. The 3 tied the game at 42. Later in the game EMU had the ball with 9 seconds left, and tried to win it by rushing into the lane, but they weren't able to get the layup.

Headed to overtime EMU shot the ball well. Thompson, Harrison and Bryant all hit some key jump shots. But WMU refused to go away. With a 48-47 lead, JR Sims was able to get 2 free throws, to give EMU a 3 point lead. The Broncos came down got a 2 pointer, but it wouldn't be enough as they fouled EMU and didn't have time to get a good shot off.

Glenn Bryant lead the team with 15 points, he also had 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 3 rebounds. Harrison who started today had 13 points, 6 rebounds and a block. Thompson had 9 points, and 1 of the 2, 3 pointers EMU had in this game.

The Eagles were just 2/11 from behind the arc. Free throws were pretty big late in the game, EMU went 6/9 from the line.

Eastern Michigan did a nice job limiting their turnovers to only 9 in this game. There were a few sloppy plays by the eagles but they were able to make up for them. EMU had 10 steals, and 6 blocks as a team. EMU did a amazing job defensively in this game.

A win is a win, no matter by how much. This was a huge win for the team now going into play Central Michigan with a 2 game win streak. The MAC tournament is just around the corner and EMU wants to finish strong.
